Professor Michael M. Reuter is the director of the Gerald P. Buccino ’63 Center for Leadership Development, the Honors Program at the Stillman School of Business, Seton Hall University. His passion for leadership and understanding of its operational application is reflected in his work with senior executives in co-authoring papers that document their career learnings and experiences.
He leverages his broad leadership knowledge and business experiences in the continued development of the Stillman School’s leadership students. Through the honors program, he presents them with learnings and experiences that will challenge, stretch and grow them during their university career to prepare them for highly successful professional and personal careers. He brings the same passion and intensity for performance and leadership excellence to the development of the program’s structure, processes and offerings, ensuring a best-in-class learning environment for the students. His deep caring and commitment to those whom he serves as leadership/life coach and mentor is a hallmark of his life of servant leadership.
Over the past 23 years, he has been an executive coach and mentor, and has led and implemented many successful organizational change management initiatives. He has co-authored several papers on the career learnings and experiences of a variety of senior executives including a paper, “A Passion for Excellence,” with former AT&T CEO, Robert Allen. He has been spoken on the subject of leadership in various forums. His paper, “Project Leadership Management in the Next Millennium – The New Requirements for High Performance,” has been well received by the community. He has taught at Centenary College, New Jersey, as an adjunct professor teaching Human Resources.
He is a native New Yorker, having been born and raised in Brooklyn. Michael served in the U. S. military in Strategic Intelligence and as an Embassy Liaison Officer in the Republic of Viet Nam and was awarded the Joint Services Commendation Medal. Upon returning from service, he joined AT&T and held numerous positions in various organizations as the company was evolving from a regulated monopoly into competitive enterprise. He is a graduate of Saint Peter’s College and completed his MBA at Fairleigh Dickinson University.
Reuter is a Thought Leader for American Entrepreneurship Today – New Jersey and he also speaks at various forums on leadership. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the United States Hispanic Advocacy Association (USHAA), and also the Board’s Ambassador for Leadership. He is also the chairman of the Board of Directors of WitnessHOPE and the executive chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Raise Hope Foundation.
His reflections on leadership, collected at Three Minute Leadership, are shared weekly with broad spectrum of business leaders, students and individuals he coaches and mentors addressing various topics on the subject of leadership.
